Minimum Qualifications

Required Licensure and Certifications

Professional license required. Must be a Registered Dietitian and within three years of employment in position, obtain credential as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) - preferred

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates knowledge of various concepts in diabetes and nutrition management for patients in the home and acute-care setting; Demonstrates a willingness to learn. Uses equipment required for role: computer and programs related to ordering, phone, printer/copier/fax/scanner, as well as a personal computer with Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs as appropriate. Maintains patient/family confidentiality. Projects positive attitude toward patients, co-workers; communicating clearly; and interacting respectfully. Conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and coworkers as necessary. Understand how to follow safety guidelines, and understand the associate handbook and all hospital policies.

PREFERRED Qualifications

Master's Degree preferred.  Minimum experience of one to three years preferred.
