Training and experience:  At least a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and five years of nursing experience, two years of which must have been in a nursing administrative position. Master’s degree in nursing or an associated field, or willingness to obtain in specified period.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the activities of clinical care departments.  Requires the proficient use of communication skills to coordinate the needs of physicians, staff, and patients.

Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates:  Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Dakota.

Working Conditions:  Works in heated, well lighted, ventilated area.  Subject to many interruptions, irregular hours, and occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.  May be exposed to infectious or contagious diseases. May be exposed to emergency or crisis situations. May be exposed to blood and body fluids. May be exposed to risk of blood-borne diseases.

Physical Demands:  Job is primarily sedentary.  Must have ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
