The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for supporting hospitals in the calculation of the contractual, bad debt and charity allowances for the monthly financial statements in accordance with company Policy and Procedures, performing and providing analytics on the monthly net patient revenues, providing cost report preparation, cost report appeals, audit preparation and other duties related to the regulatory reimbursement services. The position maintains current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other State and Federal regulations. The Sr. Reimbursement Analyst also assists in the improvement of internal business processes and meeting future reimbursement service needs.



  • Responsible for the compilation of month-end net revenue calculations and analyses.  Prepares supporting documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial management reporting and analytics to be utilized by corporate/hospital leadership.
  • Participates in the maintenance of mapping tables, reconciling daily and monthly interfaces, and participating in meetings required for valuing patient AR.
  • Analyzes and identifies any underlying causes for net revenue variances.
  • Researches market and/or contract changes and PFS processing issues to ensure accurate reporting of hospital patient AR.
  • Audits reports and recommends changes to reflect accuracy, consistency and completeness of data being reported in hospital patient AR.
  • Helps to coordinate annual external audits to ensure accuracy of valuation of net patient accounts receivables.  Provides gap analyses.
  • Prepares interim and annual cost reports for Medicare, Medicaid and other State or Federal agencies for internal facilities and regions
  • Calculates periodic adjustments for deductions from revenue, revenue reserves, bad debt and other revenue adjustments related to regulatory reimbursement for all internal facilities and regions in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Assist the Reimbursement Managers and/or Directors with recommendations for internal strategy by evaluating current growth, anticipating future needs, and assessing impact of services delivered


  • Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other with related experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience and excellent working knowledge of general accounting, hospital contractual allowance/AR experience or hospital financial accounting experience, government reimbursement, appeals and audits in a complex organization, and maintaining relationships with internal and external entities such as general accounting, patient accounting, and fiscal intermediaries required
  • Experience and knowledge of current reimbursement regulations and applications in a complex healthcare environment required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with all aspects of Medicare and Medicaid (Medi-Cal) regulations monitoring and report processes required
  • Experience as hospital Reimbursement staff or auditing experiences with Fiscal Intermediary required
  • Strong computer skills in Excel required.  Skills in reporting tools, such as PowerBI and Tableau preferred. RCA experience is a plus.
