 JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

The Sleep Lab Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, age specific and competent diagnostic testing for all patients and for providing direction and communication between the VP of Patient Care, staff and Physician to assure effective, efficient operation within service. The Sleep Lab Manager will perform all duties required of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist with direct management responsibility of the Sleep Lab Department.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Primary functions and responsibilities include connecting sleep lab equipment to patients, ensuring sleep lab equipment and supplies are adequately maintained in stock as well as assisting with patient education to patients in outpatient settings if needed.

2. Ensures all department policies and protocals meet with Sleep Lab accreditation standards.

3. Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs particularly related to the age of patients in the unit/area(s) of assignment.

4. Ability to manage a chaotic work environment related to changing patient needs, including work with pediatric patients and their families.

5. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency and financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, trust and respect).

6. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.

7. Works to ensure quality, growth, people and financial standards are met.

8. Develops education plan for self and collaborates with clinical and clerical teams to develop education plan for individuals and the team.

9. Oversees facility issues related to furniture and equipment including preventive maintenance upkeep and repair.

10. Responds to client needs, assures patient satisfaction is met and that complaints are handled and resolved.

11. Exercise sound working relationships with other staff and may be required to precept and be responsible for the work of students, trainees and assistants.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education (for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Manager through President) Does Not Apply

Required Education for Staff Job Levels Associates Degree, BSN or higher secondary education

Required Licensure and Certifications Basic BLS; Oregon Registered Polysomnographer Technologist License.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Three years clinical experience. Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for job title and the unit/area(s) of assignment.

PREFERRED Qualifications National Board Registry preferred.
