  • Assist new members in the achievement of their fitness goals. Assess the member’s fitness needs, as well as designing and executing a workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment. Our trainers and instructors will lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascular strength training, water aerobics or other fitness classes. You will work with people of 18 years or older and all skill levels. If hired as a Personal Trainer, you will consult with the member and track their progress throughout the fitness program, helping them achieve their goals safely and effectively.


  • Education
    • Required:  High School Diploma
      Preferred:  Undergraduate degree (or currently working towards a degree)
  • Major
    • Required: N/A
      Preferred: Kinesiology, Exercise Science, AEP, Pre-PT, Recreation and Leisure Studies
  • Experience
    • Required: At least 6 months experience working in a health club, gym or other related activity
      Preferred:  N/A
  • Skills
    • Required:  Punctuality and reliability
      Preferred:  Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.  Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Licensure/Certifications
    • Required:  Nationally Accredited Fitness Certification (i.e. Personal Training, Group Fitness or Specialty Certification) ** Training Certificate must be presented with Resume
      Preferred:  Certification in pool safety and related pool and/or gym experience highly preferred.


    1. Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and medical concerns/limitations and design personalized exercise regimens. Help build a successful client based membership.

    1. Plan and organize classes and membership drives. Develops/Assists members with workouts: demonstrates equipment in gym/pool, determines correct adjustments for individual and suggests starting weights and reps for individual. Reviews progress by charting and varying workouts as indicated and is accessible at all times to members.

    1. Work Behavior: responsible, reliable and honest in all member interactions and assigned tasks; demonstrates flexibility in job tasks; promotes good health and wellness to others by example.

    1. Equipment maintenance: disinfects machines daily; keeps litter picked up in all work areas; puts soiled towels in hamper; maintains an adequate supply of towels in pool bathrooms; cleans tiles and keeps pool area clean during open swim and reports any additional environmental issues to appropriate staff.

    1. Physical Demands: continually standing and walking during shift, continually talking in person or on phone during shift, must be able to physically demonstrate use of each piece of equipment.

    1. Communication: encourages, educates and assists members with workouts; informs members if exercise is being performed incorrectly; protects confidentiality of all members and exhibits excellent customer service at all times.

    1. Member and personal safety: demonstrates proper body mechanics when performing tasks; maintains presence during open pool/gym; monitors all clients during open times; reports any safety issues to supervisor, seeking assistance when necessary, utilizes PPE as necessary.

    1. Clerical responsibilities: maintains member records; performs other clerical duties as requested.

    1. Professional growth: maintains proper CPR certification, Continuing Education requirements for National Certification and in house Water Safety Training.

    1. Work flexible hours required for classes, clients and the success of the business.

    1. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
