Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level

Required:

Associates degree from accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Licensure/Certification

Required:

Current State Licensure as Occupational Therapist Assistant issued by Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners – OTA (ECPTOTE)

(NBCOT if initial licensure--has COTA designation)

BLS certification (through an approved AHA program).

Preferred:

Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the Texas Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA).

Registered COTA through National Board of Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to effectively use computer and computer programs for documentation, departmental information and inter/intra departmental communication.

Experience

Required: None

Preferred: 2-3 years of professional experience as OTA (Occupational Therapist Assistant).
