  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Directs and coordinates infection control surveillance and works with analysts in Outcomes Management and Employee Health to improve policy/process/protocol performance and to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

              Responsible for supporting a system-wide culture designed to achieve industry best practices and standards in     performance. Specific areas include quality, safety, LEAN promotions, engagement and service excellence as measured by the Living Our Mission metrics for the CHI Texas Division. This individual also supports improvement efforts on behalf of CHI St. Joseph Health within the CHI Texas Division and CHI National serving as the organizational liaison to connect leadership at all levels and ensure performance optimization.

    • ESSENTIAL

    • Infection Control:

      • Oversees adherence to infection control and prevention strategies by initiating and/or monitoring infection control practices.
      • Conducts ongoing surveillance of healthcare acquired infections in targeted patient populations and epidemiologically significant communicable diseases in employees to reduce and contain the spread of infectious and communicable diseases.
      • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations and reporting requirements related to infection prevention and control.
      • Provides education and consultation in areas of infection control practice and standards to meet the needs of team members.
      • Prepares the operating budget and manages direct expenses for infection prevention and control.
      • Advises and makes recommendations for furniture and interior selections appropriate to hospital environment specifications.

      Process Improvement:

      • Support strategies, programs, and action plans designed to improve performance and tracking of organizational effectiveness as it relates to quality, safety, service and engagement.
      • Oversee new improvement initiatives from the Texas Division; serving as the organizational liaison connecting leadership at all levels.
      • Gather data in order to monitor and track organizational improvement, including performance at levels of the organization.
      • Develop resources, tools and processes to drive results and support the engagement of individuals, teams and departments at all levels.
      • Use change management principles and strategies to create an environment that effectively adopts, supports and fosters ongoing improvement and change through education, facilitation, and customized tools and services.
    • OTHER
      • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
      • Analyzeand synthesize data from multiple assessments into meaningful conclusions thatenhance fact-based development and planning.
      • Partner with leadershipto drive process improvements; identify root causes to issues and recommend concretesolutions that increase organization capability.
      • Participatein cross-functional teams to diagnose organizational effectiveness issues, collectand analyze qualitative and quantitative data as part of that analysis,generate recommendations to address performance gaps and build requiredcapability, and craft high impact implementation plans.
      • Facilitate relationships and support the integration of CHI St. Joseph, the Texas Division and national through utilization of effective interpersonal communication skills, proactive identification of potential barriers for resolution, and tracking and management of improvement initiatives and projects to facilitate successful implementation.
